Jura is an enchanting region tucked between the slopes of the Jura mountains and the Bresse plain - with just 2,000 hectares of vines - and 200 producers. There is more soil diversity here than in Burgundy. The region specialises in white wines (which dominate 80% of production) with Chardonnay and Savagnin the two main white grapes. Three red grapes, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir are grown on lower warmer soils.
