A fun comparative wine tasting focusing on the great wines of New Zealand and Oregon.  Taste 13 wines including Riesling, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay – with a special focus on Pinot Noir.

Outside Burgundy, the two main hotspots of Pinot Noir are New Zealand and Oregon.  They are both in the ‘Ring of Fire’, a circular ring of active volcanoes and earthquakes which result in unique soils and mountain ranges.  This deep dive into their wine regions will show the difference in style between them – and highlight their young small-scale sustainable industries and complex wines.

The tasting will be illustrated with visuals of the beautiful regions of New Zealand (eg Central Otago, Marlborough, Martinborough) and Oregon (Dundee Hills and Eola Amity Hills in Willamette Valley and the Columbia Gorge).

A selection of fine cheeses will also be served alongside the wines.
