Volcanic Wine Masterclass: SOLD OUT!

Hams Hame 21 Golf Place, St Andrews, Fife, United Kingdom

An explosive expo on volcanic wines! Volcanic soils account for just 1% of the world's surface, but they are highly sought after by vinegrowers.  The style of wines produced are so distinctive and intriguing due to their incredible tension, concentrated acidity and mineral compounds.  Many volcanic regions are also phylloxera-free so some vines are ungrafted and extremely old - adding to the complexity of the wines. This evening will offer a deep dive into all things volcanic - with a chance to sample 13 wines from around the world including Hungary, Sicily, Santorini, Italy, Canary Islands, Oregon and beyond. No prior knowledge required to enjoy this - just a love of fine wine. A selection of artisan cheeses will also be served alongside the wines. Start time: 7.30pm Finish time: 9.30pm

Cabernet Sauvignon around the World Masterclass: SOLD OUT!

Royal Scots Club 29 Abercromby Place, Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Cabernet Sauvignon is the most planted grape in the world.  It is the hero of Bordeaux's left bank in France, where it appears in blends, but it is also now grown in almost every wine growing country in the world from Moldova to Chile. It originates from a cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc - and is most prized for its low yields, thick skins, full body and complexity - but Cabernet Sauvignon is not an easy grape to work with in vineyard or winery. Join our tasting to compare 13 different Cabernet Sauvignons from around the world selected by Rose Murray Brown - including Italy (Tuscany), USA (Washington State), South Africa (Stellenbosch), France (Bordeaux), Australia (Coonawarra), Argentina (Mendoza), Chile (Colchagua) and more. No prior knowledge required to enjoy this - just a love of fine wine. A selection […]
