Discover the Adelaide Hills, South Australia’s premier cool climate wine region which has shot to stardom in less than 50 years.

This long skinny region east of Adelaide is best known for producing high quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir – with particularly fine examples from its high elevation subzones Piccadilly Valley and Lenswood.  Chardonnay really shines here with great tension, focus and depth of fruit – and it is also often used for their sparkling wines.

The small artisan wineries spread across this large region also produce interesting examples of Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz.  This region is a hub of experimentation with a mix of established names and a new generation of young winemakers pushing the boundaries – also growing unusual grapes (eg. Gruner Veltliner & Nebbiolo) and making cutting-edge styles.

The tasting will include 13 wines – whites and reds – from the region’s leading producers.

A selection of fine artisan cheeses will also be served alongside the wines.

This evening would make a great gift for the Australian wine lover.

Hosted by Rose Murray Brown MW.
