It has been used since early 1970s - and the first wines to break the mould were Sassicaia and Tignanello - but today many producers across the region are creating blends from non-indigenous grapes and producing a wide variety of styles within Tuscany from coastal Bolgheri to southern Maremma. Olivier Humbrecht MW was France's very first Master of Wine - and one of few French winemakers to still hold this title.
