Discover the Adelaide Hills, South Australia's premier cool climate wine region which has shot to stardom in less than 50 years. This long skinny region east of Adelaide is best known for producing high quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir - with particularly fine examples from its high elevation subzones Piccadilly Valley and Lenswood. Chardonnay really shines here with great tension, focus and depth of fruit - and it is also often used for their sparkling wines. The small artisan wineries spread across this large region also produce interesting examples of Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz.
