A chance to sample 80 wines made from Hungary's flagship grape, Furmint.
This relaxed walkaround tasting will be held in the impressive spacious surroundings of the Great Hall of the Royal College of Physicians, 9 Queen Street, Edinburgh.
There will be 20 Hungarian wineries at the tasting showcasing over 80 sparkling, dry and sweet Furmint wines from Hungary.
Discover the superb quality & richness of dry Furmint, savour the delights of sweet Tokaji Szamarodni and rich intense Tokaji Aszu – and explore the exciting new sparkling Furmints now available.
Furmint is grown in a variety of regions across Hungary. The best known region is Tokaj-Hegyalja for both dry and sweet styles – but there are also sensationally good dry Furmints from Somlo, Eger and Badascony.
Producers include Royal Tokaji, Sauska, Pajzos, Zsirai, Barta, Disznoko, Tokaj Oremus, TR Wines, Kolonics and Gilvesy.
