Taste 13 wines including Riesling, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay - with a special focus on Pinot Noir. Outside Burgundy, the two main hotspots of Pinot Noir are New Zealand and Oregon. They are both in the 'Ring of Fire', a circular ring of active volcanoes and earthquakes which result in unique soils and mountain ranges. This deep dive into their wine regions will show the difference in style between them - and highlight their young small-scale sustainable industries and complex wines. The tasting will be illustrated with visuals of the beautiful regions of New Zealand (eg Central Otago, Marlborough, Martinborough) and Oregon (Dundee Hills and Eola Amity Hills in Willamette Valley and the Columbia Gorge). South Africa Masterclass: Elgin v Walker Bay: SOLD OUT

Sample 13 wines from two of the Cape's top wine regions - with wines from leading producers - hosted by Master of Wine Rose Murray Brown. Elgin in South Africa's coolest region - an apple growing area - which was first planted with vines in 1986 by Dr Paul Cluver. It now specialises in premium Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay - as well as Riesling, Merlot and Shiraz. It was declared an official wine ward in 1990 - and is technically a district of the Cape South Coast. Walker Bay is another cool climate region, with a more direct maritime influence from the Benguela Current and Antartic.
